From our yard in the village of Woolstone in the Vale of the White Horse we have some beautiful rides. After a short climb out of the south end of the village there is a permitted track through National Trust land with superb views over the Vale of the White Horse. Flatter terrain exists to the north of the village. The following are just some of the rides that you can enjoy.
Should you wish to try some of these rides we can offer bed and breakfast for your horse and there is B&B available in Woolstone for yourself.
Uffington and Uffington Station - a flat route mostly on quiet roads to the north of Woolstone and by the former Uffington railway station. Uffington Castle - up to the Ridgeway and around the summit area of White Horse Hill. Excellent views across the Vale of the White Horse and of the White Horse itself. Waylands Smithy and Odstone Farm - a circular route up to and west along the Ridgeway to Waylands Smithy Long Barrow returning mostly on bridleway by Odstone Farm and Cowleaze Farm. Loops towards Lambourn - a variety of extensive open routes from the Ridgeway south towards Lambourn - superb views and well away from any roads. Bishopstone Valley ride - a longer ride along the Ridgeway to the west visiting the quiet valley above the village of Bishopstone. Russley Park and Ashdown House - a longer ride to the south west via the Russley Park and the National Trust property at Ashdown House. |
